Revitaliser Annual

NUM 3 Spring to Autumn 2024

A high biomass, fast establishing, vigorous, spring-sown legume fallow to produce a wide window of flowering plants to feed bees and insects through the summer months, provide good root growth to improve soil structure whilst fixing nitrogen for the following arable crop and a large biomass that can be incorporated to increase soil organic matter.

This mixture is designed as a spring-sown break crop replacement, to ‘rest’ the soil whilst providing a rich food source for a range of insects which feed on nectar and pollen, such as bees, hoverflies, butterflies, moths and some beetles. They, in turn, provide feed for some farmland birds

For those with Blackgrass issues who are looking at the NUM 3 option, the rapid and smothering action of all these varieties lends itself to weed suppression. Where Blackgrass persists these areas can be cut under guidance, which will also lengthen the flowering period of the mixture providing nectar for longer.

A win-win mixture.
