Early variety with high yield of excellent feed quality. It is an early maturity hybrid with dent grain texture. It is the first hybrid of this maturity that has dent type grain and has been bred specifically for the cool maritime locations found in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia. This hybrid flowers early and produces silage with a very high starch content. P7034 is typical of dent hybrids which invariably yield more starch of a type which degrades at a faster rate in the rumen than traditional flint maize starch. This is due to its faster rumen degradation rate is useful if maize is needed very soon after harvest.
